“Everyday Iran”, inspired by “Everyday Africa”, is the most widespread mobile-photography project based on social networks in Iran which has started since early 2014. Everyday Iran asks the whole people who live and work in Iran to send their photos of daily lives in the country with #everydayiran on Instagram. Those photos which are selected by 5 Iranian curators Ali Kaveh, Mohammad Tajik, Hossein Fatemi, Ali Tajik and Abbas HajiMohammadi are reposted on our social media pages each day. Khatereh Kordkarimi is the editor of the project. By displaying mobile phone images from our day-to-day lives, Everyday Iran hopes to work against the stereotypes and visual tropes that are so prevalent about the region in the mainstream media. These photos show Iranian life styles, our culture, touristy and historic sites and religious places.
