A Group Exhibition,5 -22 of December 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm
As years pass by, the blight of time remains on existing photos. And now there comes new images with newer meanings. In this series, by deliberately making some change to existing photographs, the artist has tried to focus on the elapse of time and days familiar to all of us.
The new images too have the same feeling of acquaintance. They however don’t convey their old truth and instead bare in them a brand new sense of reality and identity and challenge part of our unconscious memory and personal experiences. By looking at these photos, a familiar belief will form in the audience’s mind. A belief similar to an alien feeling we sense when looking at other people’s family photos who are strangers to us; although we are in a way joined in a collective imagination.
If our share from history is changed with our transformations, therefore, we will have a different perception of the primary image after the passage of all these years.
The photographer’s diligence is to create new and innovative works that are not too strange or personal, by reprocessing photographs. His reaction and what he does to these images conveys and reminds someone who tries to express his inner most feelings through destroying his personal and memorable photos and to turn the circumstances into his well being and relief. This way and this is how a new image takes form. An image, that does not look like its original state anymore but instead, only resembles it greatly.
