Farshid Mesghali studied painting at Tehran University. He began his career as an illustrator at Negin magazine around 60s. He went on working as a graphic designer for years to come. In 70s he joined the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults making animated films, and illustrating books for children wining many international awards. He began painting and drawing and working on some sculptures again in the 70s. In 1979 he moved to Paris. In the next four years he worked as an artist, producing a number of paintings as well as sculptures presented at Sammy King Gallery in Pairs. In 1986 he moved to Southern California, USA.
During 1990-1994 he created a series of digital artworks based on snapshot photos some of which were exhibited in galleries and later in L.A. County Museum of Modern Arts. He had a number of exhibitions in Teheran, Paris and Los Angeles. One man show at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Netherlands. One man show at Bratislava Museum. In 2005, KIT Musume in Amsterdam, Netherland, commissioned him with a Leili & Majnon installation for their permanent collection. He has 2 permanent installation in Milad Tower in Tehran.
